I paint with raw emotion; without fear. It is very meditative, an out of body dance. I paint very much in the moment, almost without forethought. An artist’s drawing or painting is part of their soul. My paintings are done in a very loose and impressionistic style, not giving every detail. When you look at my artwork, your eyes will automatically fill in the details, bringing you back to a place or feeling that you’ve had before. That is, after all how we really see, not of what the eye sees, but what the soul feels. I have always loved loose, abstract, or impressionistic artwork for the romantic feel of it. I want to keep looking as I receive flashes of nostalgia, and that’s what I hope you feel when you look at my work. Kathy was born and raised in Athens, Georgia.
